Leitner spaced repetition — with AI on the tedious part
Build your own decks in the language you're learning. Type a word and AI writes the whole back of the card — meaning, definition and an example. Then review with the Leitner system: what you know comes back less often, what you don't comes back sooner.
Free · Android and web · Persian and English, fully right-to-left
The app
Five tabs, and none of them is a dashboard. Pick one to see it running.
A goal ring against the daily goal you set, the words due for review, your streak, and how strong your memory is across the five Leitner boxes.
Why it works
Vocably is small on purpose. Everything in it exists to get one word from “never seen it” to “didn't have to think.”
Every word sits in one of five boxes. Answer it right and it moves up a box and comes back less often; get it wrong and it drops to the start. Only boxes one to three are ever due, so the queue stays the size of a sitting.
Type a word and the whole back of the card is written for you — meaning, dictionary definition and an example sentence, in the language you actually speak. One card per sense, so you keep the one you meant.
Build your own, save a ready-made one from Explore, or share a deck with a friend. A saved deck's words wait until you start them, so a 500-word import never floods tomorrow's review.
Graded texts and your own .txt or .md files, paginated rather than scrolled so a word can't move under your finger mid-tap. Tap a word, keep it, carry on reading.
Three drills over words you already have: the ones you keep missing, typing mastered words back into their own sentence, and a free shuffle that costs no progress at all.
Not a translated interface — a right-to-left one, with Persian digits and Vazirmatn set beside Plus Jakarta Sans, exactly as this page is. Switch the language and the whole layout turns around.
واژهی resilient در جعبهی ۳ است.
The word تابآور is in box 3.
Each line carries its own direction — exactly as the app does.
How it works
The loop is the product. Everything else is in service of getting you back into it tomorrow.
Type it in, or tap it while you're reading something in the Library.
Meaning, a dictionary definition and an example — one card per sense, so you pick the one you meant.
Home shows only the words due today, in sittings of thirty, and tells you honestly when the day is bigger than the session.
Every right answer moves the word up a box, until box five: mastered, and barely due at all.
Get Vocably
Free, and there is nothing to unlock. The web app runs in any browser and installs to your home screen; the Android build is the same app, from the same commit.
Before you ask
Yes. There are no ads, no subscription, and nothing behind a paywall.
Yes — that's what lets your words follow you between your phone and the browser. Sign in with Google, or with a phone number and a code.
Any pair. The default is Persian → English, because that's what Vocably was built for, but you choose both sides during setup and can change them later.
Reviewing does. Whatever you do offline syncs the next time you're connected, on whichever device you pick up next.
